Founded in 1980 under the name Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta, the ORV is a musical gem of the Veneto region, active in both symphonic and operatic fields.
After performing in the concert seasons of Treviso, Rovigo, and Bassano del Grappa, the orchestra became an independent association in 1999, establishing its headquarters at the Teatro Sociale of Rovigo.
Praised for its versatility and high performance standards, the ORV has played in major Italian and international venues, collaborating with renowned artists and innovative projects.
Since 2025 it has been artistically directed by Danilo Rossi, former principal viola of Teatro alla Scala. That same year, it received a major award in the Art Bonus competition for its “Musical Drops for Nature” project.
The orchestra has released numerous CDs for labels such as RivoAlto and Bongiovanni, covering repertoire from Baroque to contemporary.
Among its most notable projects: the recording of Galuppi’s oratorio Jephte et Helcana, Nino Rota’s opera I due timidi, and a live Gospel album also distributed in the USA.
The ORV has also participated in television and film productions, including the Golden Globe-winning series Mozart in the Jungle.

A tribute concert to one of the greatest composers of our time: Remembering Ennio Morricone revisits some of the most iconic soundtracks written by the Maestro for the cinema.
The orchestra will perform alongside projected scenes on a big screen from legendary films such as Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, Once Upon a Time in America, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
A narrative thread will guide the audience through memories and emotions, with the added presence of a soprano to enhance the experience.
A unique evening, where music and images come together in the name of a legend of Italian and global culture—and his unforgettable contribution to both Hollywood and Italian cinema.
